Rapids edge Chivas USA on Amarikwa goal

Mar 27, 2011 - 4:43 AM Carson, CA (Sports Network) - The Colorado Rapids start their Major League Soccer title defense with the first 2-0-0 start in the franchise's 16-year history after a 1-0 win at Chivas USA on Saturday night at The Home Depot Center.

Quincy Amarikwa scored the game's lone goal in the 32nd minute to provide all the defense Colorado would need.

For Chivas USA (0-2-0), it starts the season winless in two home matches, while being shut out by Colorado in the fourth straight meeting between the two Western Conference clubs.

Chivas USA hopes to have more luck on the road, when it travels to Toronto for a match next Saturday, while Colorado hopes to continue its winning ways at home vs. D.C. United a day later in its next MLS fixture.
