Rapids earn 5th straight draw as K.C. snaps losing streak

May 29, 2011 - 3:11 AM Commerce City, CO (Sports Network) - The Colorado Rapids earned their fifth straight draw, 1-1, vs. Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer action at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday.

Conor Casey notched his first goal of the season to open the scoring for Colorado in the 13th minute when he took a left-footed shot from a tough angle that found the bottom right corner.

With the goal, Casey becomes the ninth different player to score a goal for the defending MLS Cup champion Rapids this season, matching the total for all of last season.

But Kansas City got the equalizer 15 minutes form time when second-half substitute Ryan Smith took a Teal Bunbury pass and blasted home with his left. It was his fourth goal of the season.

The draw snaps a five-game losing streak for the Rapids.
