Weary Dallas concerned ahead of Seattle clash
May 8, 2012 - 10:13 PM Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - FC Dallas was reduced to nine men in the opening half of its last match Sunday, and with a quick turnaround Wednesday night for its match against Seattle Sounders, could be in trouble at FC Dallas Stadium.Dallas (3-4-3) has secured 11 of its 12 points at home to date, but it lost on Sunday at the Colorado Rapids for its first loss in Frisco this year, and will be without Daniel Hernandez and Blas Perez due to automatic suspensions.
"Obviously Sunday was a lot of emotions involved in the game, throughout the game," Hyndman said on Dallas' website. "The nice thing about having a quick turnaround is you can start to forget about that game and you can think about the next game.
"I'm more concerned about the fatigue level and how much the guys gave me and how much that fatigue level may affect (us)."
After a hard fixture against Colorado - and playing down two men for so long - Hyndman admitted Dallas will face a tough challenge against Seattle (6-1-1).
"They're a type of team that are like sharks, when they smell blood they come after it," Hyndman said.
Sounders FC has won their last four games and is just three points behind the San Jose Earthquakes and Real Salt Lake in the Western Conference, although they have played at least two fewer matches than both clubs.
Seattle suffered its only defeat of the season in late March, 1-0 to San Jose, and has gone unbeaten in five straight games overall and allowed just one goal since. The Sounders have allowed just three goals all season.
In addition to being solid defensively, forward pair Eddie Johnson and Fredy Montero have quickly become one of the most dynamic attacking combinations in Major League Soccer.
"They have a lot of weapons. Their defense is solid, they don't give up a lot of goals," Hyndman said.
The mid-week match will be important for both sides, as both return to action Saturday. Seattle hosts Real Salt Lake to complete its important two-game week and Dallas visits the Columbus Crew.
