Houston hoping to start new unbeaten run

May 17, 2013 - 6:25 PM Houston, TX (Sports Network) - The Houston Dynamo will aim to start a new home unbeaten streak when they welcome the New England Revolution to BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday.

Houston entered the previous weekend riding an MLS-record 36-match home unbeaten streak, which was ended with a 1-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City.

"I've said this since you guys have started talking about the streak, it's given teams that come in here more motivation," Dynamo defender Bobby Boswell said after the loss to Sporting. "Have you ever seen a team win a game and have a huddle after the game and go run around screaming in the tunnel and stuff like that? I haven't. Obviously they feel they've accomplished something great. Credit to them for getting the result, but it's not going to break us as a team."

What will be interesting to see is what type of impact the result has on New England's mentality coming into BBVA Compass Stadium.

With the air of invincibility gone from Houston's aura, the Revs should feel as though they can go on to claim a vital road victory. But after New England threw away a chance at three points last time out, the club may be lacking morale for its trip to Houston.

The Revs are coming off of a 1-1 draw with Red Bull New York at Gillette Stadium, a match that saw the home side open the scoring only to concede the equalizer a minute later.

The result had Revolution head coach Jay Heaps lamenting his side's lapse in concentration.

"It's disappointing to give up the goal the way we did," Heaps he said. "It's right after we scored. We didn't have any time to regroup. It was a momentary loss of concentration and boom, they score. That kills us."

New England managed just the lone point from its two straight home matches, increasing the necessity for the club to claim something of merit from its travels this weekend.

"It's one point from two (games) at home, which we all know isn't what we're shooting for," Revs defender Chris Tierney said. "You've just got to put it behind you in this league. The next game comes quickly. We'll look over what we've done well and what we haven't, make the necessary adjustments and look to take three (points) on the road next week."
