'Caps top Dynamo to stay unbeaten

Mar 30, 2014 - 1:23 AM Vancouver, BC (SportsNetwork.com) - Vancouver Whitecaps FC continued its unbeaten start under first-year head coach Carl Robinson by getting a 2-1 win over the Houston Dynamo at BC Place on Saturday.

The 'Caps entered the match with five points from their first three games and goals from Jordan Harvey and Kenny Miller proved to be enough to get the club get to eight points.

Vancouver opened the scoring in the 14th minute when a sublime cross from Pedro Morales was nodded back in front of goal by Andy O'Brien, which allowed Harvey to catch the Dynamo defense napping and slot home from close range.

Referee Kevin Stott awarded the home side a penalty kick in the 58th minute when Kofi Sarkodie handled the ball in the midst of a sliding challenge in the box, and Miller converted the attempt to double Vancouver advantage.

Ricardo Clark pulled one back off of a helper from Brad Davis in the 75th minute, but it failed to spark a comeback as Houston failed to find an equalizer.

The Dynamo, conceding their first goals of the season, see their perfect start to the season come to an end as the club stays put on six points.
