Mooy joins A-League's Heart
May 21, 2014 - 2:48 AM Midfielder Aaron Mooy has signed a two-year deal with A-League club Melbourne Heart. The 23-year-old comes to the Heart following a couple of strong seasons with the Western Sydney Wanderers.
He is the fourth player under the age of 25 to have joined the cashed-up Heart this week, following the signings of teenagers Connor Chapman and Jacob Melling - alongside James Brown - on two-year deals on Tuesday.
Heart coach John van `t Schip was thrilled to snare Mooy.
"Everyone who follows the A-League knows of Aaron's quality," van' t Schip said in a club statement on Wednesday.
"For us he can be a player who can dictate the style of football we want to play.
"He is one of the best young Australian players so we are delighted to have captured his signature. It shows the club's ambition to win trophies and play football a certain way."
Mooy will commence training with the Heart when the team return to pre-season training in the first week of June.
Heart, bought by oil-rich owners of Manchester City in January, are expected to make several more prominent signings - including a new international marquee before the new season starts in October.
