Ten-man SKC piles more misery on Houston

Jun 7, 2014 - 2:41 AM Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Sporting Kansas City was reduced to 10 men at BBVA Compass Stadium but still managed to take all three points by getting a 2-0 win over the Houston Dynamo.

Antonio Dovale was issued a straight red card in the 21st minute for throwing an apparent elbow away from the ball, but it didn't prevent the visitors from grabbing the lead just before halftime.

Kansas City capitalized on a defensive giveaway from the Dynamo in the 45th minute as Benny Feilhaber poked a through ball into the path of Soony Saad, who curled the opener past Tyler Deric for the opener.

Sporting held the one-goal margin until the 70th minute when A.J. Cochran was whistled for a hand ball in the box, which allowed Dom Dwyer to slot home the insurance goal on the ensuing penalty attempt.

The visitors closed out the match to hold on to the victory, lifting Sporting (6-5-4) to 22 points on the season.

Houston (5-9-2) has lost four straight league matches by a combined score of 10-0.
