We can win A-League title: Roar coach
Apr 16, 2017 - 10:26 PM Brisbane Roar coach John Aloisi is certain his side have the quality and fighting spirit to become the first side to win the A-League grand final from outside the top two.Brisbane's 4-3 victory over the Wellington Phoenix saw the Roar finish in third position and they will host Western Sydney in the first round of the finals on Friday night.
Aloisi feels Brisbane are peaking at the right time in contrast to last season when they limped into the cut-throat part of the season..
"I definitely think we can win it," Aloisi said.
"We have to win our first game first - that's the most important thing. But we're confident we can beat anyone, anywhere.
"We're playing Friday night, we'll win that one first then worry about the next one after that.
"We're playing at home, we're heading (into the playoffs) in good form.
"Last season we sort of just got over the line not playing our best but this year we're playing well."
Aloisi feels his side have shown throughout the season they have the fighting quality to take the championship trophy.
"We have played three games in a week and the second half they kept on going it looked like they had played in the week and travelled to Perth the week before," Aloisi said.
"We scored four goals but some of our football and movement and chances were brilliant.
"And the character of the boys...we could have easily thought we're going to make the top four anyway because of the way the results would probably go our way but they wanted to win.
"They don't know how to lay down and have shown they can come back from a lot of difficult situation."
