Lazio storm into Italian cup quarters
Dec 14, 2017 - 10:34 PM Lazio beat visiting Cittadella 4-1 with a Ciro Immobile brace Thursday to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup, where they will face Fiorentina later this month.Immobile opened the scoring for the Rome hosts after coming face to face with goalkeeper Alberto Paleari while Felipe Anderson struck in similar fashion.
The Serie B visitors then scored an own goal but pulled one back from Paolo Bartolomei's free-kick in the 41st minute.
Immobile then finished off another break in the box three minutes from time.
Fiorentina advanced by beating Sampdoria 3-2 on Wednesday. AC Milan beat Verona 3-0 to set up a city derby with Inter Milan, who prevailed on penalties against third-division Pordenone.
Four remaining games of the last-16 round are scheduled next week.
