Lazio oust Fiorentina to reach Cup semis

Dec 26, 2017 - 10:45 PM Senad Lulic's early winner has propelled Lazio into the semi-finals of the Italian Cup at the expense of Fiorentina at Stadio Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday.

Lazio's captain found the far corner of the goal six minutes into a first half that saw the Rome side threaten from Felipe Caicedo, while Felipe Anderson and substitute Ciro Immobile also came close.

La Viola's pace improved after the pause but their best chance, a swerving shot from Federico Chiesa, was bravely saved by goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha, while Lulic's late effort was also saved.

Lazio's semi-final opponent will be decided from the winner of Wednesday's city derby between AC Milan and Inter Milan.
