Liberty clinch playoff spot with win over Lynx
Sep 3, 2011 - 2:20 AM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Leilani Mitchell made six three-pointers en route to 24 points, as the New York Liberty secured a playoff spot with a 78-62 victory over the Minnesota Lynx.Cappie Pondexter added 13 points and seven assists for the Liberty, who sit third in the Eastern Conference standings. Plenette Pierson and Nicole Powell tallied 13 points apiece.
Seimone Augustus finished with 17 points and six assists for the Lynx, who will finish with the WNBA's best record due to Connecticut's win over East- leading Indiana on Friday.
