Lynx handle Mercury
Jul 24, 2013 - 7:31 PM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Lindsay Whalen had 18 points and seven assists as the Minnesota Lynx defeated the Phoenix Mercury, 81-69, on Wednesday.Seimone Augustus and Monica Wright scored 16 and 14 points, respectively, for the Lynx, who are on a seven-game winning streak and are undefeated at home.
Candice Dupree had 17 points while DeWanna Bonner added 15 for the Mercury, who have lost five of their last six games.
Minnesota held a 41-34 lead at halftime but the Lynx pulled away in the third quarter, scoring 26 points. Midway through the period, they led by as many as 18 points.
