Pondexter helps Liberty down Shock in OT

Jun 1, 2013 - 2:29 AM Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Cappie Pondexter hit a jumper with 0.5 seconds left in overtime as the New York Liberty took a 78-76 victory in overtime to keep the Tulsa Shock winless on Friday.

Pondexter had 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Essence Carson gave 18 points, while Kara Braxton gave 12 points, eight boards and five steals for the Liberty, who lost to Connecticut in their season opener last Saturday.

Liz Cambage had 22 points and six boards and Glory Johnson gave 17 and 11 for the Shock, who have dropped three straight games to open the season.

Nicole Powell, who finished with 11 points for Tulsa, had tied the game at 76- all with 11.1 seconds left, but Pondexter's 11-foot shot fell true to give New York the win.
