Latta helps Mystics beat Liberty
May 31, 2014 - 1:23 AM Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Ivory Latta scored 10 of her 15 points late in the fourth quarter to lift the Washington Mystics over the New York Liberty, 68-60, on Friday.Kia Vaughn and Jelena Milovanovic each added 14 points for the Mystics, who improved to 2-2 on the young season.
Cappie Pondexter ended with 20 points for the Liberty (2-3), who got 12 points from Anna Cruz. Tina Charles was limited to eight points and seven rebounds.
Trailing 54-52 with 6:02 to play, the Mystics went on a 12-2 run. Latta tallied seven points during the surge, including a floater with 2:11 left to make it 64-56.
New York closed within four, but Latta made a 3-pointer to make it 67-60 with 26.9 seconds left.
