Storm deal Lynx first loss
Jun 7, 2014 - 4:29 AM Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tanisha Wright scored nine of her 13 points in the fourth quarter as the Seattle Storm delivered the Minnesota Lynx their first loss of the season in a 65-62 final from Key Arena.Crystal Langhorne also scored 13 and Camille Little added 12 points for the Storm, who were swept in last year's playoffs by the Lynx in the conference semifinals. Temeka Johnson notched seven of her nine points in the final period.
The defending WNBA champions were led by Seimone Augustus and Maya Moore with 12 points apiece. Lindsay Whalen contributed 11 points and Janel McCarville 10, but Minnesota lost for the first time in eight games this season.
The Lynx, who shot just 1-of-13 from 3-point range, blew a seven-point lead to start the fourth quarter.
Wright's two free throws capped an 8-0 run for the hosts to give Seattle a 56-53 edge with 4:15 remaining. A jumper from Augustus eventually moved the visitors in front with three minutes left, but Little gave Seattle the lead for good by draining a 3-point shot at the 2:06 mark.
Whalen's short jumper had the Lynx within 63-62 with 11.4 seconds remaining, but Wright made two from the charity stripe a second later.
Tan White's 3-point attempt was off the mark in the closing second.
