Ogwumike leads Sparks over Storm
Jul 4, 2014 - 4:21 AM Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Nneka Ogwumike scored 21 points and Candace Parker added 17 with 10 rebounds and four blocks to boost the Los Angeles Sparks to a 70-56 win over the Seattle Storm.Jantel Lavender had 11 points and six boards for the Sparks, who improved to 3-0 against the Storm this season.
Crystal Langhorne totaled 19 points and eight rebounds for Seattle, which lost its second in a row. Shekinna Stricklen had 11 points and Temeka Johnson scored 10 in defeat.
Los Angeles, which posted its third win in four games, shot 68.8 percent from the field in the second quarter to take control of the contest. That's when the Sparks held a 24-10 scoring advantage to widen the gap to 40-22 at the half.
The visitors were ahead as many as 27 in the third quarter.
