Sun rally in 4th to down Liberty
Jul 16, 2011 - 1:20 AM Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Renee Montgomery scored 10 of her 12 points in the fourth quarter and the Connecticut Sun rallied for a 68-59 victory over the New York Liberty on Friday night.Montgomery and the Sun outscored New York 18-7 in the final 10 minutes of the game, holding the Liberty to just 16.7 percent shooting from the field and overcoming an early four-point deficit in the quarter.
Tina Charles scored 15 points and Asjha Jones added 14 for Connecticut, which snapped a two-game losing streak.
Kia Vaughn had 15 points to lead the Liberty, who had a four-game winning streak halted with their first loss since June 30. Nicole Powell added 13 points and Cappie Pondexter chipped in 11.
