Shock lose 17th straight, match WNBA record
Aug 15, 2011 - 2:26 AM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Seimone Augustus scored a game-high 16 points, as the Minnesota Lynx dealt the Tulsa Shock a record-tying loss with an 82-54 rout at Target Center.The loss was the Shock's 17th in a row, tying the mark set by the 2008 Atlanta Dream in the franchise's inaugural season. They can set the record if they lose next Sunday, when they host Los Angeles.
Minnesota, on the other hand, has won 11 of its last 12 games and enjoys a five-game cushion for first place in the Western Conference.
Lindsay Whalen added 12 points and nine assists for the Lynx, while the Shock did not have a player score in double digits.
Sheryl Swoopes paced Tulsa with nine points, and Ivory Latta and Liz Cambage each contributed eight.
