Sparks hand Shock record 18th straight loss
Aug 22, 2011 - 1:58 AM Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Candace Parker posted 23 points and nine rebounds, as the Sparks sent the Shock to a league record 18th consecutive loss, 73-67.DeLisha Milton-Jones added 15 points and Kristi Toliver had 14 for the Sparks, who erased a 13-point halftime deficit by holding the Shock to nine points in the third quarter.
Tulsa, led by Sheryl Swoopes' 17 points, never led in the fourth. The Shock's lone win this season came in their sixth game, a 77-59 victory over Washington on June 18.
The 2008 Atlanta Dream were the only other team to lose 17 straight.
