Silver Stars pick up critical win over Mercury
Sep 2, 2011 - 2:26 AM San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Jia Perkins had 23 points, Becky Hammon scored 16 and the San Antonio Silver Stars strengthened their hold on the West's fourth and final playoff spot with an 86-68 win over the Phoenix Mercury.Danielle Robinson finished with 15 points and seven assists for San Antonio, which holds a two-game lead over fifth-place Los Angeles.
DeWanna Bonner notched 23 points and seven rebounds for the Mercury, who could have secured a postseason berth with a victory. Diana Taurasi scored 18 points, while Candice Dupree grabbed 13 rebounds in defeat.
