Robinson, Silver Stars down Liberty
Sep 19, 2012 - 4:25 AM San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Danielle Robinson had 21 points and the San Antonio Silver Stars downed the New York Liberty, 77-66, on Tuesday.Shameka Christon tallied 17 points and Becky Hammon added 12 for the Silver Stars, who have won three of their last four contests on the heels of a five- game losing streak.
Cappie Pondexter netted 23 points for New York, which had a three-game winning streak snapped. Essence Carson had 11 points and Kara Braxton chipped in 10.
Trailing, 57-55, San Antonio outscored New York 22-9 in the fourth quarter.
The Liberty made just three of their 16 three-point attempts.
New York is a game ahead of the Chicago Sky, who lost to the Seattle Storm on Tuesday, for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
