Taurasi, Mercury end Sparks' home-winning streak
Jul 19, 2013 - 4:40 AM Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Diana Taurasi poured in a game-high 32 points with seven rebounds and six assists to lead the Phoenix Mercury to a 90-84 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday.Taurasi, who was named a WNBA All-Star for the sixth time, was 15-for-17 from the free throw line. DeWanna Bonner chipped in with 17 points and 11 rebounds and Penny Taylor finished with 16 points for the Mercury, who snapped a three- game losing streak.
Phoenix rookie Brittney Griner, who was also named to the All-Star team, missed the game with a left knee injury.
Candace Parker poured in 25 points and 16 rebounds for the Sparks, who were 9-0 at home. Los Angeles had won 19 straight games at home entering the contest.
Parker was also named to the All-Star team.
