Hayes, Dream top Fever
Jul 13, 2014 - 1:48 AM Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Tiffany Hayes led five players in double figures with 21 points, as the Atlanta Dream continued their winning ways with a 93-74 rout of the Indiana Fever on Saturday.Angel McCoughtry and Jasmine Thomas each totaled 11 points, four rebounds and four assists and Erika de Souza added 13 points and 12 rebounds to help Atlanta win its third straight game. The Dream are 5-1 over their last six.
Tamika Catchings led a balanced Indiana scoring attack with 14 points, while Erlana Larkins finished with a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double in the setback.
The Dream used a big second quarter to pull away in this one. After taking a 23-21 edge into the second, Atlanta shot 4-of-6 from behind the arc and outrebounded Indiana 11-6 in the stanza to build a comfortable 55-34 halftime lead.
The Fever got within 10 late in the third but never threatened.
