0 shoutsCALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- Henry Burris threw a pair of touchdown passes as the Calgary Stampeders put forth a stellar defensive effort en route to a 34-4 triumph over the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday.
Burris completed 21-of-34 passes for 241 yards with one interception. He made TD tosses of one yard to Mike Labinjo and 18 yards to Nikolas Lewis while also gaining 55 yards on six rushes.
Burris now has 1,159 completions for the Stampeders, moving him past Peter Liske for third place on the franchise list. He trails Jeff Garcia for second place by 90.
Lewis extended his streak of consecutive games with at least one catch to 82, hauling in 10 passes for 92 yards to match Allen Pitts for the second-longest run in club history. Pitts owns the team mark of 85 straight contests with a reception.
Sandro DeAngelis kicked four field goals and Joffrey Reynolds eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth straight season with 112 on 12 carries for Calgary (8-4), which allowed its fewest amount of points since posting a 35-4 victory over Saskatchewan on August 11, 2001.
Cody Pickett went 21-of-36 for 193 yards with an interception and Mike Vanderjagt recorded a field goal and a single for Toronto (4-8), which fell to 0-2 under new coach Don Matthews.
