D'Orazio's six TD passes lead Rush past Dragons
Mar 19, 2007 - 4:48 AM ROSEMONT, Illinois (Ticker) -- Matt D'Orazio threw six TD passes as the the Chicago Rush posted a 61-40 victory over the New York Dragons.D'Orazio completed 19-of-35 passes for 245 yards and an interception for Chicago (2-1), which outscored New York, 34-10, in the second half to break open the game.
In the first half, D'Orazio tossed two straight TD passes to Russell Shaw, including one with 1:10 left in the second quarter to give the Rush a 27-23 lead.
However, Rohan Davey connected with Mike Horecek on a 29-yard score with just 32 seconds remaining to give the Dragons a 30-27 halftime lead.
After Carter Warly kicked a 29-yard field goal at 9:24 mark of the third quarter to give New York a 33-27 lead, D'Orazio threw four touchdown passes sandwiched around linebacker DeJuan Alfonso's two-yard fumble recovery to push Chicago's lead to 61-33 with 5:14 remaining.
Shaw caught nine passes for 135 yards and five TDs for the Rush.
Davey was 25-of-41 for 245 yards and two touchdowns for New York (0-2) but was intercepted twice and sacked twice
