Rattlers roll past Gladiators

Jun 4, 2007 - 6:13 AM LAS VEGAS (Ticker) -- Sherdrick Bonner threw five touchdowns as the Arizona Rattlers won a battle between the two worst teams in the American Conference, a 41-20 victory over the Las Vegas Gladiators 41-20 Sunday.

Jeremiah Pope caught four touchdowns and Atnaf Harris hauled in another for Arizona (4-10), which fell behind 13-7 after one quarter before outscoring Las Vegas 34-7 the rest of the way.

Bonner finished 19-of-31 for 243 yards, doing the majority of his damage during the second quarter when he connected with Pope for three scores.

Pope hauled in 10 passes for 115 yards and Harris had three catches for 82 yards, including a 30-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.

Las Vegas' Nick Rolovich threw for three touchdowns on 18-of-38 attempts for 182 yards with an interception. Travis LaTendresse caught two TDs and Marlio Jackson pulled in the third. Thabiti Davis did not reach the end zone but led Las Vegas (2-11) with eight receptions for 76 yards.

Led by six tackles from William Fields and five by Keyou Craver, the Arizona defense held the Gladiators scoreless in the second half.
