Voodoo withstands gamble by Predators
Mar 9, 2008 - 10:37 PM NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- Danny Wimprine threw six touchdowns passes and the New Orleans Voodoo held on for a 54-53 victory over the Orlando Predators on Sunday.Keon Raymond's 42-yard interception return with 36 seconds left to play seemingly iced the game for New Orleans (1-1), but Jonathan Ruffin missed the extra point.
Orlando (0-2) then tied it when quarterback Shane Stafford threw a 26-yard scoring pass to T.T. Toliver as time expired.
Rather than play for the tie, the Predators went for the conversion only to see it fail.
Stafford was 29-of-43 for 321 yards and four touchdowns with the two costly interceptions.
