Philyaw accounts for eight TDs as Gladiators top Predators

May 10, 2008 - 3:09 AM CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Raymond Philyaw tossed seven touchdown passes and also caught a score to lead the Cleveland Gladiators to a 62-43 victory over the Orlando Predators on Friday.

Philyaw, who threw for 280 yards, put the Gladiators (6-4) on the board with 5:11 in the first quarter, when he caught a pass from wide receiver Robert Redd to knot the game at 7-7.

The Predators (7-4) took a brief lead at the end of the opening quarter, but Philyaw and Redd connected again - this time with Redd catching a nine-yard TD pass - and never looked back.

Redd finished with nine receptions for 126 yards and three touchdowns and Otis Amey caught three scores for Cleveland, which converted all five of its chances from inside the red zone.
