Smoker's late score leads Rattlers by Rampage

May 25, 2008 - 5:52 AM PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Chris Robinson rushed for three touchdowns and Jeff Smoker ran in the game-winner as the Arizona Rattlers held on for a 52-48 victory over the Grand Rapids Rampage on Saturday night.

Smoker's 29-yard TD toss to Trandon Harvey tied the game at 42-42 with 13:28 remaining in the fourth quarter, and kicker Eric Houle added a 25-yarder field goal to give Arizona (5-6) took a three-point lead.

Grand Rapids (3-8) regained the lead when James MacPherson and Josh Sewell hooked up for a 34-yard score to make it 48-45 with 6:07 left.

But Smoker's 1-yard scamper sealed the win with just 35 seconds remaining. A former Michigan State product, Smoker completed 23-of-37 passes for 272 yards and two scores in his second game since returning to the starting lineup.

MacPherson went 13-of-26 for 270 yards and six scores.
