MacPherson guides Rampage past Rush
Jul 7, 2008 - 12:57 AM ROSEMONT, Illinois (Ticker) -- James MacPherson had seven touchdowns to help the sixth-seeded Grand Rapids Rampage upset the top-seeded Chicago Rush, 58-41, on Sunday to advance to the Arena Football League conference finals.MacPherson completed 33-of-39 passes for 326 yards for the Rampage (8-10), who will travel to face the San Jose SaberCats in the American Conference Championship game on Saturday.
MacPherson sparked a 20-point fourth quarter with a 1-yard run to give Grand Rapids a 45-35 lead. The quarterback also connected on four first-half scoring strikes.
Russ Michna had five touchdown passes for Chicago (11-6).
Travis LaTendresse hauled in seven catches for 115 yards and three touchdowns while Rookie of the Year Donovan Morgan added six catches for 71 yards and two scores.
