Dolezel, Desperados destroy Dragons in season opener

Mar 4, 2007 - 10:00 PM UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- Clint Dolezel got the Dallas Desperados' season off to a dazzling start.

Dolezel threw seven touchdowns as the Desperados routed the New York Dragons, 60-7, in the season opener for both teams.

An 11-year veteran, Dolezel completed 21-of-28 passes for 249 yards. His favorite target was Marcus Nash, who had 10 receptions for 127 yards and one score.

Will Pettis hauled in eight catches for 85 yards and three TDs for Dallas, which scored the game's first 53 points.

Rohan Davey went 12-for-21 for 131 yards, one TD and two interceptions for the Dragons, who managed just 182 yards of total offense.

New York finally got on the scoreboard with 11:38 remaining when Davey hooked up with Mike Horacek for a 45-yard scoring strike.
