Germaine throws for eight TDs as Blaze crush Rampage
Mar 24, 2007 - 7:01 AM SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- Quarterback Joe Germaine took the Utah Blaze's offense to a new level.Germaine threw for eight touchdowns, including four to Siaha Burley, as the Blaze rolled to an 83-42 triumph over the Grand Rapid Rampage.
With the game tied at 14-14 after one quarter, Germaine opened things up with the first of three second-quarter TDs when he found Justin Skaggs from five yards out at the 14:56 mark.
Utah running back Kevin Clemens made it 27-14 with a three-yard run, and Germaine hooked up with Burley on the next possession for a five-yard strike with 3:35 left.
Germaine completed 20-of-29 passes for 268 yards and Burley caught 10 passes for 134 yards for the Blaze (3-1), which outscored the Rampage, 27-7, in second quarter.
Michael Bishop went 21-of-36 for 200 yards and two touchdowns and Timon Marshall had eight catches for 93 yards for Grand Rapids (1-3), which finished with just 201 yards on offense.
