D'Orazio, Rush edge Destroyers

Mar 25, 2007 - 4:54 AM COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Matt D'Orazio threw for 215 yards and four touchdowns as the Chicago Rush remained on top of the Central Division standings with a 55-47 triumph over the Columbus Destroyers.

D'Orazio completed 23-of-36 passes and rushed for two touchdowns for the Rush (3-1), who won their third straight contest.

The Destroyers (1-2) trailed, 48-40, in the fourth quarter with the ball deep in their own territory. E.J. Burt then forced his second fumble of the game for Chicago and DeJuan Alfonzo recovered in the endzone to give the Rush a 55-40 lead that would not be relinquished.

Bobby Sippio had 10 receptions for 118 yards and three touchdowns for Chicago, which held Columbus to just 151 yards of total offense.

Matt Nagy collected two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns for the Destroyers, who converted just 1-of-5 on third down in their second straight loss.

David Saunders caught six passes for 56 yards and two touchdowns for Columbus.
