Grieb's eight TD passes carry SaberCats past Storm
Apr 1, 2007 - 7:06 AM SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- Mark Grieb displayed his passing skill for the San Jose SaberCats.Grieb threw for eight touchdowns as the SaberCats coasted to a 69-49 triumph over the Tampa Bay Storm.
Grieb completed 23-of-26 passes for 284 yards and Ben Nelson recorded 10 receptions for 114 yards with four TDs for the SaberCats (2-2), who registered two sacks.
Grieb and Nelson hooked up for two first-quarter scores as the SaberCats jumper out to a 48-35 edge at intermission and never looked back.
In his first career start, Stoney Case went 22-of-36 for 271 yards with three touchdowns and T.T. Toliver reeled in 12 catches for 162 yards and two TDs for Tampa Bay (0-5), which is off to its worst start in franchise history.
