Smoker throws for six TDs as Kats crush Rattlers
Apr 15, 2007 - 7:06 AM PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Quarterback Jeff Smoker was hitting targets all over the field.Smoker threw for six touchdowns for the Nashville Kats en route to a 62-36 victory over the struggling Arizona Rattlers.
Nashville (3-4) opened things up in the second quarter as Smoker connected with Kenny Higgins for 14-yard score and later found Maurice Brown 44 yards deep to make it 27-10 at halftime.
Smoker and Higgins hooked up once again for a 37-yard TD pass with 11:06 remaining in the third quarter and never looked back.
Smoker completed 18-of-28 passes for 231 yards and Higgins finished with seven catches for 132 yards for the Kats, who had 19 first downs.
Sherdrick Bonner went 21-of-31 for 238 yards and one touchdown and Jeremiah Pope caught nine passes for 116 yards for Arizona (1-6), which was 3-of-5 on third-down conversions.
