Bellisari, Jones help VooDoo edge Wranglers
Jun 18, 2007 - 3:42 AM NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- Steve Bellisari threw for seven touchdowns, including four to Tyronne Jones, as the New Orleans VooDoo held on for a 66-61 triumph over the Austin Wranglers on Sunday night.Bellisari finished 26-of-43 for 294 yards, including three second-quarter scores to Jones during an impressive 29-point uprising to carry a 32-27 lead into the locker room.
Kenny Henderson had nine catches for 111 yards and two scores while Jones hauled in eight for 92 yards for the VooDoo (5-10).
Late in the fourth quarter, Lang Campbell found Derrick Lewis 32 yards deep in the end zone as Austin crawled within 59-54 with 2:40 left. But Bellisari answered with a five-yard scamper one minute later to seal the win.
Campbell completed 32-of-41 passes for 356 and seven TDs and Lewis and Otis Amey combined for 27 catches for 312 yards for the Wranglers (4-11).
