Prefontaine kicks three field goals in Argos' win

Oct 21, 2007 - 1:43 AM MONTREAL (Ticker) -- Noel Prefontaine kicked three field goals as the Toronto Argonauts posted their fifth straight win with a 16-9 victory over the Montreal Alouettes.

The Argonauts (9-7), who clinched at least a share of second place in the East Division, had two interceptions, a fumble and held twice on fourth down.

Damon Duvall had two field goals for Montreal (7-9), which has lost five of its last six games.

Anthony Calvillo passed for 283 yards and Jarrett Payton added 79 yards on the ground, but the turnovers and 12 penalties prevented the Alouettes from getting into the end zone.

Prefontaine connected from 16 yards in the first period, 29 yards in the second and nine yards in the fourth.

Toronto quarterback Michael Bishop completed 15-of-35 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown, but did not throw an interception and ran five times for 40 yards.
