It didn't take long for the Stampeders to get on the board. Calgary's first possession of the game resulted in a 23-yard TD pass from Burris to Arthur.
The Stampeders scored again after the Roughriders were forced to punt. This time around, Nik Lewis caught a nine-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-0.
