American Pharoah unanimous pick for National Poll

Jun 22, 2015 - 7:32 PM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Triple Crown champion American Pharoah is again the unanimous choice as the leading racehorse for this week's NTRA National Thoroughbred Poll.

Owned by Zayat Stables and trained by Bob Baffert, American Pharoah picked up all 41 first-place votes and 410 points to continue to lead the way in the balloting.

The 3-year-old colt, undefeated this year in five starts, is back at his Santa Anita barn as his connections patiently prepare him for the rest of the season. American Pharoah will parade between races Saturday at Santa Anita.

"We're excited to present him to the public on June 27. It should make for a tremendous day for those joining us on track and on television throughout the world," said Santa Anita Chairman Keith Brackpool.

The remainder of the poll is basically unchanged from last week. Shared Belief is second (309) followed by Honor Code (304), California Chrome (258), Main Sequence (179), Tonalist (152), Noble Bird (96), Beholder (87), Lea (85) and Constitution (76).

The National Poll continues through the Breeders' Cup.
