Final/12
Hardy helps O's down M's in extras, complete sweep

Miguel Olivo's RBI single in the top of the 12th gave Seattle a 1-0 lead, but the Orioles responded with two runs in the home half. Brandon League (0-3) gave up a single to Derrek Lee before hitting two straight batters to load the bases. After Matt Wieters lined out, Hardy won the game for Baltimore with a base hit up the middle.
The victory gave the O's their first sweep of the Mariners since taking all four games of a set at Camden Yards from April 4-7, 2008.
Both starting pitchers went nine scoreless innings. Jason Vargas gave up seven hits for Seattle, while Zach Britton allowed just three hits for Baltimore.
"My job was just to keep us in the game as long as possible. You gotta tip your hat to Vargas, he pitched really well," said Britton. "When's that going to happen again?"
"Both pitchers were outstanding," said Seattle manager Eric Wedge. "You knew in the end it was going to be a play here or there (that won it)."
The only real scoring threat over the first nine innings came from the Orioles in the second. Adam Jones' bunt single and Wieters' base hit put men on the corners with one out. Hardy grounded into a double play to end the frame.
Jim Johnson (2-1), who tossed a perfect 11th, stayed on for the top of the 12th. Ichiro Suzuki led off with an infield single, moved to second and third on consecutive groundouts and crossed the plate on Olivo's base hit to left.
Johnson went from the losing pitcher to the winning pitcher in a matter of minutes, thanks to Hardy's two-run single in the home 12th.
