Phillies minor league pitcher suspended 50 games
Sep 3, 2010 - 8:06 PM NEW YORK (AP) -- Philadelphia Phillies minor league pitcher Alvaro Bacil has been suspended 50 games after a positive drug test.The right-handed Bacil was suspended Friday after testing positive for a metabolite of Boldenone, a performance-enhancing substance that violates the minor league drug program.
Bacil went 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 11 appearances for the Phillies' Dominican summer league team. His suspension will begin at the start of next season.
