Giants aim to bounce back vs. Rockies
Jun 11, 2008 - 1:36 PM San Francisco (29-36) at Colorado (25-39) 9:05 p.m. EDTDENVER (Ticker) -- The San Francisco Giants try to bounce back from a rare road loss when they continue a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday.
The Giants had won seven straight games on the road before suffering a 10-5 setback to the Rockies during the series opener on Tuesday.
Todd Helton collected three hits, including a three-run homer, and Garrett Atkins belted a two-run shot for Colorado, which has won five of its last six games after dropping the previous eight.
"I think we know what we can do," Helton said. "It's a tough game, and sometimes it clicks and sometimes it doesn't. You just have to keep plugging away. We're playing well, and that's all that matters."
San Francisco starter Pat Misch (0-3) lasted just four innings for the Giants, surrendering four runs and seven hits.
However, the Giants' bullpen should get a rest on Wednesday when Tim Lincecum (8-1, 2.15 ERA) takes the mound.
Lincecum has pitched at least seven innings in each of his last three starts, surrendering a total of five runs over that span.
Ubaldo Jimenez (1-6, 5.43) counters for the Rockies, searching for his first win since April 8.
