Royals dominating National League

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- Based on their interleague success, the Kansas City Royals may want to petition to join the National League.

The Royals try to continue their winning ways against the NL when they resume a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday.

Kansas City owns the second worst record in the American League but has won nine of its last 10 games against NL opponents. Monday's series-opening 8-4 victory over the Rockies pushed the Royals to a major league-best 10-3 in interleague play this season.

Zack Greinke (6-4, 3.33 ERA) looks to lead Kansas City to its fourth straight win overall when he toes the rubber on Tuesday.

Greinke, who is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in three starts against the NL this season, was stellar during his last outing, allowing just one run and two hits in seven innings. The 24-year-old righthander walked just one and struck out seven, earning his first win since May 18 with a 4-1 triumph over the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday.

Jorge De La Rosa (2-3, 6.52) tries to continue his recent dominance when he takes the mound for the Rockies.

De La Rosa, 27, has surrendered just three runs and five hits in 11 innings over his last two starts and picked up the win during Thursday's 6-3 victory over the Cleveland Indians.
