Halladay, Blue Jays shoot for three straight

TORONTO (Ticker) -- A new-found offense is suiting the Toronto Blue Jays just fine.

Roy Halladay and the Blue Jays seek their third straight victory when they take on the Cincinnati Reds in interleague play Wednesday .

Toronto routed Cincinnati, 14-1, on Tuesday, posting season-highs in runs and hits (22) in the process. The Blue Jays have now scored 22 runs in their last two wins after suffering through a seven-game losing streak in which they tallied just 23 in the process.

Halladay (8-6, 2.90 ERA), the 2003 American League Cy Young Award winner, will be after his first win in three starts despite an impressive last outing.

The big righthander yielded just six hits and struck out seven, but did not get a decision in Toronto's 1-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates last Friday.

The Reds, who have dropped seven of nine, counter with Aaron Harang (3-10, 4.33).

Harang also hopes for a better outing than his last effort as the righthander gave up five runs and 10 hits in five innings during a 7-4 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers last Thursday.

Cincinnati is 6-4 in interleague play while Toronto is 5-9 vs. the National League.
