Scott, Orioles look to pounce on Tigers

BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- Luke Scott and the Baltimore Orioles look to pounce on the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.

With two home runs, Scott led Friday's charge that saw the Orioles use four home runs to power past starter Armando Galarraga and the Tigers, who are back to the .500 mark. It was Scott's second multi-homer game of the season and fourth of his career.

Three of Scott's 16 home runs have come off lefthanders, and he's batting .241 (14-for-58) against them.

He will have a chance to improve on those numbers since Tigers are giving the starting nod to southpaw Nate Robertson (6-8, 5.26 ERA), who has given up 15 homers in 116 1/3 innings.

Robertson's last outing ended in a 6-5 loss to the Minnesota Twins in which he gave up five runs and 10 hits in seven innings. His last win was June 21.

Baltimore will counter with Daniel Cabrera (6-5, 4.33), who is known for being rather erratic. The 27-year-old righthander seeks his second win in 11 starts. Since winning five of his first six decisions, he is 1-4 with a 5.25 ERA in his last 10 outings.

Aubrey Huff has been hot for the Orioles, collecting six multi-hit games over his past nine. He hit his 19th homer on Friday and is batting .287. In addition, Melvin Mora is 3-for-7 with two homers, four RBI and three runs in the series.

For the Tigers, Miguel Cabrera snapped an 0-for-13 streak with a base hit against starter Jeremy Guthrie on Friday.
