Pettitte, Cano lead Yankees to rout of Red Sox

Jul 26, 2008 - 11:24 PM BOSTON (Ticker) -- Andy Pettitte pitched six strong innings and Robinson Cano homered and drove in three runs to lead the New York Yankees to a 10-3 victory over the rival Boston Red Sox on Saturday at Fenway Park.

Pettitte (12-7) allowed three runs - one earned - and three hits while striking out seven and issuing one walk. The veteran lefthander bounced back from his last performance against the Red Sox on July 3 in which he allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings to suffer a loss.

Cano continued his torrid pace, launching a solo homer in the fourth and doubling off the "Green Monster" with the bases loaded in the eighth to cap a three-hit day. He is batting .514 (18-for-35) in eight games since the All-Star break.

Johnny Damon and Bobby Abreu drove in two runs apiece for New York, which has won eighth straight games.
