LeBron leads Heat over road-weary Wizards

Nov 30, 2010 - 5:21 AM Miami, FL (Sports Network) - LeBron James scored a game-high 30 points as Miami topped Washington, 105-94, to keep the Wizards winless on the road this season.

Dwyane Wade scored 26 and grabbed eight rebounds and Chris Bosh added 20 points for the Heat, who have won two of three on the heels of a three-game slide.

"The story line was that we came in with a much better focused energy and was able to sustain it all the way through," said Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra. "There were some ebb and flows of the game. We didn't play sharp all the time offensively"

"The ball was moving and the most important thing was just our effort and energy on the defensive end. [We were] extremely active."

Andray Blatche led Washington with 26 points and nine rebounds and Gilbert Arenas added 23 points and seven assists for the Wizards, who tied their worst road start (0-8) since 2006-07.

Nick Young added 13 points in a reserve role and JaVale McGee finished with the game's only double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in defeat.

The Heat shot 8-of-16 from the field in the first quarter en route to a 24-21 lead.

Miami started the second on a 10-2 run behind seven early points from Bosh and carried the 11-point lead into the final minute of the half, but Arenas' three-pointer with 10.4 ticks left cut the margin to 52-44 heading into the locker room.

The second half featured a small skirmish between the teams.

Heat forward Juwan Howard and Wizards center Hilton Armstrong were thrown out of the game following an incident in the final seconds of the third quarter,

Armstrong was called for a flagrant two foul and ejected after pushing Miami's Joel Anthony as he attempted a layup with 32.3 seconds left, while Howard picked up a technical foul and was tossed for shoving Armstrong.

Wade scored 15 points in the frame, including two from the line at 5:03 that pushed Miami's lead to 73-57. But a nine-point outburst from Young that included seven points in the final minutes helped trim Miami's lead to 80-69 heading into the final stanza.

James Jones' three-pointer at 9:41 in the fourth extended Miami's lead to 20 at 92-72 and after Wade's driving layup at 7:40 pushed the advantage to 22, the Heat went into protection mode.

Spoelstra removed Bosh, Wade and James and the Wizards scored eight points in the final 1:12 to account for the final margin.

"We had a couple of dry spells," Wizards coach Flip Saunders said. "I think that we played a 48 minute game, but we played about seven minutes of bad basketball where we couldn't score. They scored and they got a cushion off of it and play off of it."
