Heat beat Bucks in overtime

Nov 22, 2012 - 4:31 AM Miami, FL (Sports Network) - LeBron James finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists on Wednesday, as the Miami Heat held off the Milwaukee Bucks, 113-106, in overtime.

Dwyane Wade returned from a two-game absence and matched James with 28 points, while Chris Bosh recorded a double-double with 24 points and 18 boards to help the Heat improve to 5-0 at home for the first time in club history.

Brandon Jennings paced Milwaukee with 19 points, seven boards, six assists and five steals, while rookie John Henson donated a double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds for the Bucks, who have lost two straight.

The Bucks held a 91-84 advantage with just under five minutes left in regulation, but the Heat answered with 10 straight points, as Ray Allen capped the spurt with a 3-pointer to give Miami a 94-91 edge with 2:48 remaining.

Milwaukee responded with five straight to take a two-point lead before Wade's jumper tied the game, 96-96, with just over a minute remaining.

"We had so many rough moments in the first half and then we were able to battle back right before halftime," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said. "They played pretty hard in the second half. At 91-84 we were in good position. We had a small margin of error against that team. We kind of fell asleep on them."

Ekpe Udoh finished a hook shot at the other end, but James answered for the Heat, as he pulled down an offensive rebound off a Bosh miss and finished the layup to retie the game with 26.9 ticks on the clock.

The Bucks went to Monta Ellis with the game on the line, but Ellis was unable to connect on a pullup jumper from the right wing. Henson came up with the offensive rebound, but his putback attempt was off the mark.

James corralled the rebound and quickly called timeout to give Miami one final shot with 1.4 ticks on the clock, but Ellis blocked Wade at the other end to send the game to overtime.

Miami scored the first six points of the extra session, as Wade, James and Bosh each donated two points over the first two minutes.

Marquis Daniels trimmed the deficit to four with a jumper, but Miami scored the next five points, as Allen provided the final dagger with a corner 3- pointer to extend the lead to 109-100 with 1:07 remaining.

Earlier in the contest, the Heat used a 15-0 surge late in the first quarter to take a 29-15 edge after one.

"We got off to a great start. We really imposed our type of will in the beginning and got off to an 18-point lead. From there, we just relaxed," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.

Miami continued to front-run in the second and held a 16-point lead with just over four minutes remaining before the Bucks made their run.

Milwaukee scored the next 13 points, including eight from Jennings, before a Samuel Dalembert 3-pointer with less than a second remaining in the half sent the Bucks into the locker room facing a 46-44 deficit.

Both teams shot over 50 percent from the field in a tightly contested third quarter that ended with the Bucks holding a 73-71 lead heading into the final frame.

Game Notes

With his second rebound of the game in the first quarter, Heat forward Udonis Haslem passed Alonzo Mourning (4,808) for the most rebounds in team history. He finished the game with eight boards to move his mark to 4,815 ... Wade missed the last two games with a foot injury ... James has scored at least 20 points in each of his first 12 games this season ... Milwaukee had won three of their last four over the Heat.
