Warriors hope to cure road woes vs. Raptors

Nov 8, 2010 - 3:57 PM (Sports Network) - The Toronto Raptors return to the cozy confines of Air Canada Centre for the opener of a quick two-game homestand against the Golden State Warriors.

The Raptors are coming off a dismal 0-4 west coast road trip, capped by a 97-84 setback in Portland on Saturday. Brandon Roy led a balanced scoring attack with 26 points in that one.

Jarrett Jack scored 16 points to lead a dismal Toronto shooting effort, as the Raptors fell to 1-5 on the season. Down the stretch, their streak of 947 consecutive games with a three-pointer was in jeopardy, but Jack drained a three with 3:45 remaining in the game to extend the mark to 948. Toronto went 1-for-17 from beyond the arc as a team in defeat.

Andrea Bargnani, Leandro Barbosa and Jose Calderon all had 12 points for Toronto, which shot 36.8 percent overall, compared to 45.3 percent for the Blazers.

The Raptors will finish their residency with a bout against Charlotte on Wednesday.

The Warriors, meanwhile, opened up a five-game road trip with a 102-97 setback in Auburn Hills on Sunday. Richard Hamilton finished with 27 points and sank two big free throws with 13 seconds left in that one, helping to secure the win for the Detroit Pistons.

Monta Ellis scored 24 points to pace the Warriors, who fell to 0-2 on the road versus 4-0 at home this season, Dorell Wright had 19 points in the setback.

"We need to start to establish that identity on the road," Warriors forward David Lee said. "We need to find a way and we just had too many careless mistakes. It seems like each guy out on the floor tonight made one careless mistake that led to a missed opportunity for us."

Golden State, which finished a dismal 8-33 last year as the visitor, will also visit New York, Chicago and Milwaukee on its current trek.

The Warriors have won three straight and five of their past six meetings with the Raptors.
