Rockets kick off road trip in nation's capital vs. Wizards

Nov 10, 2010 - 4:04 PM (Sports Network) - Coming off their first win of the 2010-11 season, the Houston Rockets will take their show to the road for three straight games starting with tonight's showdown with the Washington Wizards.

Houston will also visit Indiana and New York, and is coming off Sunday's 120-94 win versus the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Toyota Center.

Luis Scola ended with 24 points and Kevin Martin added 21 for the Rockets, who began the campaign with five straight losses. Jordan Hill scored 14 points off the bench and Yao Ming contributed 13 points and four rebounds in less than 17 minutes of action. Yao's minutes are monitored this season because of his recent foot issue.

"It was just good to get a win after all this time, we've been so close," said Rockets head coach Rick Adelman. "To come out and get one, maybe we can start moving in the other direction."

Rockets guard Kyle Lowry (back) is questionable for tonight's game. Guard Aaron Brooks is already out with a sprained left ankle.

Washington will continue its three-game homestand and has lost two straight since its only win of the season on Nov. 2 versus Philadelphia.

In Saturday's 107-102 loss versus Cleveland in the opener of the residency, Al Thornton scored 23 points and Kirk Hinrich had 21 to pace the Wizards, who have lost four of five to start the season.

"We just couldn't finish the game out," said Wizards rookie John Wall, who posted 13 points and 10 assists but accounted for six of Washington's 16 turnovers.

Andray Blatche ended with 16 points and 15 rebounds, while JaVale McGee registered 11 points and 10 boards in defeat.

The Wizards will also host Charlotte at the Verizon Center.

Houston swept the home-and-home series with Washington a season ago and has won nine of the last 10 meetings between the teams. The Rockets are unbeaten in their last five trips to DC.
